About the itinerary
In this tour, experience the picturesque and spectacular garden farms, Himalayan villages, tea plantations and Mt.Kanchenjunga ranges. As you wake up to reach out to magnificent lookout points and sightseeing along meandering streets amidst ridges and hill-tops, don't forget to taste momos and other local cuisines with a cup of Chai (tea). As you head north, be ready to be spell bound by architecture of monasteries and the spectacular view of mountain ranges across Tsomgo lake. This trip also gives you insights into the lifestyle, cultural richness and heritage of local people as you spend your evening in eco resorts and guest houses run by the local community. Depending upon the season of your visit, we can include adventure activities like white water rafting, yak safari, mountain biking and etc. This trip will give you the touch and feel of Himalaya in all its richness. All throughout the itinerary, the trip focuses on its people, culture and wilderness.

Itinerary:

Day 1 Bagdogra/New Jalpaiguri to Darjeeling :

Arrive Bagdogra and transfer to Tinchuley(3 hrs) Eco Village by car .Arrive in Bagdogra and transfer to Darjeeling - Gurung (3 hrs) guest house by car. Proceed to farm & village tour in the afternoon. Visit organic farms and orchards to understand the livelihood processes of the local villagers, metre-square gardening process and vermi composting..

Overnight in Gurung Guest House.


Day 2 Darjeeling:
Early morning proceed to sightseeing of the prominent tourist spots in the Darjeeling city. Some of the known places are Tiger Hill, Ghoom Monastery, Batasia Loop Zoological Garden, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Ropeway, Tensing - Gumbo Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self Help Canter, Lebong Race Course, Peace Pagoda & Rock Garden - Gangamaya Park.
From Tinchuley drive to Ghoom. From Ghoom embark on a toy train ride to Darjeeling - to the home of the late Tenzing Norgay, co-mountaineer of Sir Edmund Hillary. Darjeeling has since 1954 housed the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute where he trained a generation of mountaineers. The earliest Everest expeditions started their journey from here. Return back to Gurung guest house

Day 3 Gangtok:
Early morning drive(4 hrs) by car to Gangtok. Visit Rumtek Monastery. Rumtek Monastery is the most important and the largest monastery in India. Perched on a hilltop the monastery is home to the monks community, where they perform the sacred rituals and practices of the Karma Kagyu lineage. The monstery embodies the vision and aspiration of the Sixteenth Karmapa, Rangjung Rigpe Dorje, to establish his seat-in-exile to help spread the teachings of the Buddha throughout the world.

Day 4 Gangtok:
After breakfast proceed to sightseeing in Gangtok. The unspoilt natural beauty of Gangtok and its peaceful Chortens/Stupas offer a truly unique traveling experience. Excursion to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir. The Tsomgo lake in Sikkim, a holy lake worshipped by the local people, perhaps has the most beautiful landscape in Sikkim. On the Gangtok - Nathu La highway, Tsomgo Lake is situated at an altitude of 12,400 ft.
If u decide to stay a day more, you may also indulge in adventure activities like trekking, white-water rafting, hang gliding, yak safari, and mountain biking.Highlights of your Sikkim Experience will be the Sikkimese and Tibetan Tantrik Buddhist Culture, Hikes, Birding, Village experience, Cooking lessons, Visit to Oldest Royal Monastery of Sikkim, Visit to Local School and Craft Centre, Freshly-cooked Organic Local Food.

Day 5 Kolakham - Neora Valley National Park - Kalimpong Hills:
Early morning drive by car to Neora Valley eco resort. The resort Nearly 35 kms from Kalimpong town and adjacent to Neora valley national park. On the way, stop at Kalimpong heritage town. Kalimpong is known for its educational institutions. This place provides spectacular views of the Himalayan ranges. The popular viewpoints of the place are Durpin Dara and Deoro Hill. One can buy souvenirs like Buddhist thankas, hand beaten silver, Bhutanese weaves, Chinese lamps, Lepcha daggers, masks and a lot more. Kalimpong also several nurseries which mainly cultivate gladioli.

Day 6 Kolakham - Neora Valley National Park - Kalimpong Hills:
In the morning trek through Neora Valley National Park that harbors a wonderful array of wildlife such as Red Panda, Barking Deer, Himalayan Black Bear, Blue Sheep, Bengal Tiger and more than 200 species of birds including many rarities. The view of the place from resort is spectacular. The region is surrounded by dense rain forests, broadleaf forests, alpine meadows and lofty mountains. The view of snow range from the resort is most expansive. Our trained local villagers run all services and activities.

Day 7 Bagdogra/New Jalpaiguri:
Check out after breakfast and transfer to New Jalpaiguri (4 hours)by car to onward destination.
