About the itinerary
Classic Andaman is the perfect constellation for anyone who is weary of the hustle & bustles of city life and is looking for a mix of natural and cultural treasures of Andaman Islands. This 10-days tour, set at a relaxing pace, will give you an appreciation of Andaman's history, art & culture and introduce you to the lifestyle of the local communities. At the same time you have the opportunity to "dive into" the magnificent flora and fauna of uninhabited islands, indulging in activities such as swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving or just lazing on the beach. This tour also gives you ample time to go on a bird tour and forest walk to explore the rich flora and fauna of the island.

Itinerary:

Day 1 Kolkata/Chennai-Port Blair :

Arrival in Port Blair by morning flight. Our guest relations will be waiting at the airport to take the guest to selected Port Blair Hotel. Guest can relax before heading for lunch to the hotel restaurant.
In the afternoon take a three-hour city tour of Port Blair, encompassing the century-old Cellular Jail (the old colonial penitentiary), the well documented and presented Anthropological Museum (showcasing the indigenous tribes of the islands, a certain group called the Sentinalese have still not been made sustained human contact with, one of the only such tribe left in the world), the main market area and other sites. In the evening, attend the enthralling Sound and Light Show at Cellular Jail - where the heroic saga of the Indian freedom struggle is brought alive.


Day 2 Port Blair:
After breakfast, proceed for Mount Harriet - the 2nd highest peak (365 meters high) in the Andamans, which offers a magnificent bird’s eye view of Port Blair’s adjoining islands. From here one can trek for about 5 Kms through a nature’s trial of exotic flora and fauna, endemic birds and butterflies. In the afternoon proceed to Ross Island also After lunch visit Ross Island which is about 2 km east of Port Blair and can be reached by a short boat ride from Phoenix Bay Jetty. The island is controlled by the Indian navy, which requires every visitor to sign in on entering.
This Island the erstwhile capital of Port Blair during the British regime, is a tiny island situated few Kilometers away from Port Blair city. The island presently houses the ruins of old buildings like Ballroom, Chief Commissioner’s House, Govt. House, Church, Hospital, Bakery, Press, Swimming Pool and Troop Barracks, all in dilapidated condition, reminiscent of the old British regime. One can see remnants of an opulent past in the ruins of the church, swimming pool and the chief commissioner's residence with its huge gardens and grand ballrooms. There is also a cemetery and a small museum managed by the Indian Navy. The museum has on display a collection of old records. This island is an ideal destination for nature walk amidst sylvan surroundings with deers, peacocks, exotic birds, etc.


Day 3 PortBlair-Havelock :
Wake up early morning to transfer on the morning ferry (0600 hrs, 4.5 hrs) to Havelock On arrival at Havelock Island, a car will be waiting to transfer you on the 20-minute ride to Barefoot at Havelock on Beach No. 7.(Voted by TIME magazine as the most beautiful beach in Asia).
Arrive at Barefoot at Havelock. Relax on our stunning beach. Day at leisure.

Day 4 Havelock:
Day at Leisure.

Day 5 Havelock-South Button/Tamarind Camp-Havelock:
Proceed early morning by 0700 hrs to embark upon a snorkelling excursion, by country boat (dunghy) towards uninhabited islands in Ritchie’s Archipelago: South Button and Tamarind Camp – the former boasting the best coral diversity in a single location in the Andaman Islands and the latter a picturesque beach and forest setting. This beautiful Islet looks like its emerged straight out of a fairytale and has the best coral & marine life. The eastern side boats of a beautiful expanse of coral garden and is suitable of all levels of snorkelers. South button is a rock protruding from the sea and has the most diverse coral life; one can swim around this Island in a hour. After South Button we will take you to Tamarind Camp a further 30 minutes by boat where we will prepare fresh lunch while you can relax on the picturesque beach. Your tour guides are all members of the local Karen community (originally Burmese, and domiciled in Andaman since the days of the British Raj). Return back by evening and look back at your most exciting day in the Andamans Islands!

Day 6/7/8/9 Havelock:
All Days at Leisure

Day 10 Havelock-Portblair :
Morning at Leisure, relax under the shade of the tall Mahua trees as you relax on the beach. Early lunch and proceed to be dropped to the jetty. Ferry departure is at 1400 hrs and 1630 hrs and tickets are issued subject to availability. Kindly note our check out time is 0900 hrs and the same can be extended subject to availability. On arrival at Port Blair at 1800 hrs our guest executive will meet and greet you to transfer you to the selected Port Blair Hotel.

Day 11 PortBlair-Kolkata/Chennai:
Depart Port Blair Hotel and proceed to airport. Fond farewell with memories of a lifetime.
