About Kerala

Popularly known as Bharathapuzha, River Nila, once used to be the most revered of rivers in Kerala and the most admired by poets and writers. The longest river in Kerala; its plight, of late hinges on few concerned individuals and groups of which the Nila Foundation plays a significant role in bringing back Nila to its original glory. Actively supporting the foundation is the Bangalore based travel and tour operator ‘Blue Yonder’ which is already making waves in Kerala with a zeal for conservation and participatory tourism activities. Through the Nila Foundation, the group is actively involved in salvaging Kerala’s most popular river, which is engaged in a battle for survival. Through their tour and travel programmes, the group aims to bring together like-minded individuals and groups to the foundation, to retain the lost glory of this celebrated river of Kerala. By pooling in a part of the revenue earned through tour and travel programmes involving the Nila, the group is also in its process to spread its refreshing holiday experiences, and conservation initiatives to other badly affected rivers of Kerala.

Blue Yonder has in store some unique holiday experiences, which are totally off the beaten track in terms of destinations and activities. By the very manner in which they introduce visitors to Kerala, it seems some of the unseen and unheard aspects of Kerala would be unravelled through the efforts of this enterprising group.
