Coconut Lagoon, a CGH Earth Experience hotel, started in 1993 is situated by the side of the Vembanad lake in Kottayam District. It is a Heritage Lakeside backwater Resort in Aymanam Panchayat and is accessed by boat on its last mile

About the rooms

Coconut lagoon buildings are a veritable museum unto itself, each has its own tale to tell. Cottages are well over a century old, a few actually date back to the early 17th century.
Painstakingly dismantled and brought to this location from various sights in surrounding countryside. These tharavads have been reassembled piece by piece in accordance with Thachushastra, the ancient rules and rights of carpentry.
Coconut Lagoon has 50 cottages in three categories.
1) Heritage bungalows
2) Heritage mansions
3) Private pool villa


Heritage bungalows: There are 28 standard rooms comprising a bedroom, a private sit out and a partly open-to-sky bathroom. The floor area of a bungalow is 500. sq.ft. All the 28 rooms are twin bedded rooms. One cottage has specially been designed for guests with special needs, a wheel chair friendly room with no steps, railings in the bathroom etc.


Heritage mansions: There are 14 heritage mansions with a upper storey (duplex room) a private sit out and a partly open-to-sky bathroom. The floor area of a mansion is 680.sq.ft. 6 rooms are large bedded rooms and 8 rooms are twin bedded.

Pool villas: There are 8 private pool villas, all large bedded. A private pool villa has a separate living room, a spacious bedroom, a passage, a private sit out, a closed bathroom and a private plunge pool. The area of the private pool villa is 750. sq ft. The size of the pool is 5m x 2.5m. The shallow end being 3.4 ft and the deep end being 4 ft deep.

Culinary Experiences:
Ettukettu: multi cuisine restaurant which serves Indian and Continental delicacies, as well as a big Keralan spread

Breakfast – 7.30 a.m.- 10.00 a.m.
Lunch – 1.00 p.m. – 3.00 p.m.
Dinner – 7.30 p.m. -9.30 p.m.
Live cultural programs during dinner

Aymanam: A local specialty and seafood specialty restaurant, this specialty restaurant serves fresh catch of the day and operates only between October to April
Seats: 35 people.
Timings:
Dinner – 7.30 p.m. -10.30 p.m.

Farm Kitchen: Marari Beach’s new restaurant, located in the centre of the organic vegetable garden, provides a unique dinner experience. Its community style dinning for eight guests starts at 6 p.m. Guests start with picking vegetables from the organic vegetable farm along with the Chef and then proceed to cook with the Chef and eat dinner with the Chef.
Seats and accommodates: 6 guests
Operates only for dinner from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Bar

Pool Snack Bar – Open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Heron’s shot bar – Open from 10 a.m. to late night
Lawn Bar- Is open from 5.00 p.m. – late in the evening

Swimming Pool: A large pool 2. ft at the shallow end and 6 ft at the deep end. The pool is open from 8.00 Am to 8.00 Pm.
